Suggestions for server.

Ok, the other day I was trying diff combinations of guns here and there and found a couple of oddities that if corrected might help make the game much more interesting, I will try to be as clear and concise as possible:

1.- Magic weapons seem to be ok, but do not seem to be very random unless you die every round, having a negative magic weapon takes away your ability to take a better one of the same, again unless you die, this point is more an annoyance really since certain extra WoP's come from using gold wrench on +6 or higher magic weapons.

2.- WoP's are still very cool, but the amount or level of PU's available for many of them is somewhat unbalanced, examples:
WoP-Shield Gun. ---> Plasma PU.
WoP-MP5. -----------> Fire Mines & Happy Mines.
WoP-MiniGun. ------> SSR PU.

WoP-Rocket Launcher. ---> Rocket Spread, Cluster, Flare.
WoP-Flak Gun. -------------> Razor Bomb, Rocket blast.

Many guns have only 1 PU that affects a single fire mode, and other guns like shock, flak have PU's which affect both fire modes. I do not know how hard it would be to give guns a PU that affects both firemodes for each gun and also a secondary set of PU's that provide increased firepower with more PU's installed (like cluster/spread)

3.- Weapon summon should summon guns which are otherwise not available in any map weapon locker or spawn, most of the guns that are summoned are ok, removing or replacing grenade launcher and lighting gun for something more "unique" might be a good idea. also weapon summon should be absolutely random regardless of which weapon the PU is used (yes, right now putting weapon summon on certain weapons increases the chances of getting the gun you want)

I think that covers some of my thoughts right now, as always feedback is welcome, flames are not and tentacles are ok :D

you dont know how often this was discussed :-)

many weapon-related pus should change, some should go away, some should be fixed, some need more pus etc... well i dont say try to find all
topics about that which go back now 7 1/2 month about suggestions for new pus or new weapons etc...(for the "new patch"....remember 179 is running now since 30.05.2k7 ...)

i want know more about "our" new weps comin in new patch, like, will there be a rare combat-shotgun-pu for benelli, or a mini-rl-pu for mini
etcetc...


make some good suggestions for other better weps/pus

i guess i dont get what you mean with "magic weapons" ???? you mean
weps which can be golded?
well, i think you mean when you have a negative wep or a damaged negative wop and need to die to get rid of it...hmmm..sure, you are right, everyone is pissed about that, but well, where is the challenge and the "teamwork", when all weps you pick are allways and only wop10 or rejuve10s?

Nah, the magic weapons are the RPG ones, vamp +3, link +1, draining -3, venom -0, inf +1and so on. but only the positive ones can be golded and negative ones are a hindrance.

Though as I said earlier a RPG weapon or "magic" as I knew them with a bonus +6 or higher can be golded into WoP extra but have to put the extra slots with purple wrench.

I must add on this thread that I understand server setting to get wops of -1 and -2 and maybe even -3 which is way to low, but -5 is damn too much. I mean you have no chance to get 5 repair kits during one map, so you have to suicide and stuff.
So if Joey reads this by any chance: Could you please make -2 or -3 to be worst ones (its just changing one digit on webadmin menu :wave: )

Where's the challenge if you don't get any "bad" weapons? The server isn't ment to be easy. Joey has said time and time again that these things that people think are mistakes (low percent of certain pus, -5 weapons, super soldiers) are done on purpose to keep somewhat of a challenge in the game.
If you lost your cd and have the old drive and have not reinstalled UT2004 or reformatted the drive, you can find your old cd key in the registry here ...

my biggest gripe is summoning...but i have particularly bad luck....something about summoning a spidermine on a map that has em..or a greanade launcher....replace the crap summons with the widowmaker! =P :wave:

Dia makes a very valid point here. It seems that just as often I see a -1 or -2 weapon in my inventory I will also see a -5, and it's about once every 2-3 maps that I will either see a blue wrench fall or some1 offer one, so repairing the -5 is pretty much impossible w/o a suicide.
I will consistently sacrifice political correctness for an attempt at humor. If ya can't deal, then ya need ta stop being ign'ant.

I like how the game makes some weapons forbidden though, almost all -5 weapons are slomo motion weapons, so getting these weapons are literally like anchors dragging and taunting you the whole map. That is if you don't suicide....

So personally I don't think it's meant to be fixed/repaired, rather it's meant to be a curse.

I agree with zombie here. I order to keep the veteran players and highest level players to keep coming back to the server is keep them on the edge of their seat. Keep them challenged. Second, this makes it even more important as working as a team not just one person all the time.
