Ubuntu.... Great

Post by NumbWarri0r » Tue Mar 08, 2011 10:05 pm

Hey everyone. Don't know how tech savvy everyone here is, but there are a lot more options for Operating Systems (OS) than just Windows. And many of them are FREE! While I have always grown up with windows, I have recently been really getting into Linux and Unix operating systems. One that I have recently installed onto my laptop, sister's laptop and my aunts desktop is Ubuntu. Ubuntu is a(n) offshoot of Linux. It is absolutely 100% free, and very easy to use. Ubuntu allows you to do everything that any other OS allows you to do... Surf the internet, video chat, IM, games and soo much more. It comes complete with an excellent array of software, access to, and installing, new software is a snap. Now while it is an absolutely fantastic OS, there are some Cons to it. The main Con which would apply to just about everyone here is that it isn't meant for hardcore gaming, though it does support games, just not anything too heavy.

I would highly recomend this OS to anyone, its simple to use,but most importantly it's... FREE :pbjtime:

That's a pretty good review of what Ubuntu can do but since it doesn't support gaming 100% I think I'll stick with my Windows 7 ;)

i would say i only know a slight amount about computers so thats why i'm asking this but if your computer already comes with a windows operating system that works just fine what is the need to switch it?
