I hate the change. I used to enjoy just coming on the server playing and relaxing and I feel the other old-timers are under the same thought. Why not have 2 servers like before. It's like were being disregarded.

On the Widow maker Gun, I personally like it the thing is more powerful than what some may expect, yes you have to be able to actually shoot and not "spam" a weapon like flak, rocket launcher, shotty, etc..but if you build a nice one it is great for all wave except the soldiers cause they are a little harder to hit, on resurect I like this so much better for the reason you actually spawn with the weapon you have in hand unlike Ghost that spawns you on something useless and can be insta killed on arrival to your destination. Some of the weapons like the Nyan, Serious Sam, are kind of pointless does little damage and that darn Nyan is annoying as crap, some of the new abilities are AWESOME and the classes while I think could be useful in some of the smaller maps with the ability to put up tents etc if placed right otherewise they can become a hinderance. All in all I think a job well done and I get no lag on the server until someone spams the Nyan rifle.

@Amy: The only other option I have for the leveling system is to manually specify the amount of XP per level. Joey didn't want this but its still a possibility. If I decide to go this route then it'll be like a "correction" in inflation. Essentially everyone's level will scale down. So if right now lets say you need 5k points to reach level 300 and on the new system you need 5k points to reach level 240, then everyone who needs 5k points will become level 240. I don't think people are going to like having levels "stolen" from them.

@Arch: I am not against bringing back a "Monster Madness - Classic" server exactly as it used to be (and I do mean exactly, I backed up the server before I removed it). I would just like people to keep trying the new stuff and hopefully it will grow on them. Most people hate new things but after they use them for a while they start to come around. If by June a bunch of people still hate the new stuff and miss the old server then I'll bring back the old server as "Monster Madness - Classic" and I'll still have the new server for people who like the changes.

@Duffy: NyanCat can be removed from weapons crate if thats what people want. I know it needs to have its damage increased but I don't have the source code for the gun to make that change. I do like Obama with it because it's hilarious and it helps him stand out.

I have not been on the forum for a month or so since the early stages of 180, but I just wanted to comment and back up Rumple (shocker we actually agree on this one haha) about Ghost being removed. I have had major issues with Res crashing my game when I never once have ever had ghost crash me. I am begging you guys to bring ghost back! I get the same type of message sometimes when I res that says something like 1000000 iterations enchancedwop something something i cant remember it all, but since ghost was removed ive had maybe 3/20 games be ruined from res because when I res it crashed me. I know Baron (Paint) said to us the other day that you had to change some code to bring it back, I don't know how all that works but I am with Rumple in saying that since you love editing (as I do, believe me I edit binge some games hardcore lol) so if it were possible to have ghost again than I would think that could be a good challenge for you if something is wrong with ghost at the moment Baron! Again I just wanted to give my opinion, I didnt read all the other comments on this I just saw Rumple made a post about stuff he didnt like and I know ghost was #1 from what he said the other day. Besides that I love the server and I adjust to changes as they come, as most of us do. They are different yes, but most are fun because its not the same thing we've played forever, its like a whole knew MM server! Thanks for reading, buh bye! (h)

not liking a lot of it, when a game actually makes you feel physically sick... there is way too much going on in it.... nanyan? cats, not bad it its one monster doing it and not secondary firing 100 of them overlapping the sounds ... audio engineer here.. this really sux,and grates on my nerves... never liked when it happened in studio, don't like it here.. shorten some of the audio samples, some play in a cached state for nearly 10 minutes, don't recall which one it is but if it loses its start state, it keeps going.... try minimizing the main window to the desktop sometime and see how it keeps on giving, not in a good way...... as far as the physical aspects on my end, I am mildly epileptic and screen flashes can bring on seizures, would hate to have to quit playing for good just because of this..... having the old server even with the faults that it had would be better, I still use more than 1 install for ut, always have for competition, compe was a completely clean copy patched to current with no skins, no mods etc..... had to be that way to play.. 1 for testing, 1 for modding 1 for testing other things and 1 for public play, same copy just played in diff directories.

The only thing I can suggest is that 180 is toned down for sound (edit them samples) and don't make part of the fx inserts to the characters with music, use pure sounds for vox and put any added effect into the music folder... I know some are part of the actual sample, so creating a separate patch for each part would be near impossible unless you use vox samples clean and music samples clean, I tried to reduce the amount of music in the game, but crap.... its all FX .. the taunting from the monsters that is.... there are other things, just can't recall at the moment. tho a clean 179 server would be nice to fall on, who knows 180 may become tolerable in time, if its modified properly
the one thing I did not like is become a beta tester for this without no way to switch out to a non beta... I've done my share of beta, not really interested in muxing with a server...

I just saw this comment of yours Arch, and I just wanted to say I've been wondering the same thing. If there are two servers up, a dev and the real 180, than couldn't it be possible that once 180 is well polished that the 179 we all knew and loved comes back in place on the dev server? I mentioned this the other day and I know that Paint has the 179 final version saved. It could even be shared where most of the time the 2nd server is 179 but when they need to edit something they can temporarily make it the dev server again. I know Paint is working his butt off on making it great and I'm very appreciative for that, I am just trying to think of a logical option that could have all of the server players be playing happily. It seems like most of the time the dev server is nearly empty anyways besides when stuff is actually in testing.

Paint. If you have things to test, I can try them out for you on test server if it helps the development. Hopefully to prevent future catastrophes haha. We could try to smooth out any problems if there is any. Just a head up :D

Haha...I'm not complaining very much here, now that things are being rectified.

The play has actually been fun as I am getting used to the new stuff.

Aside from the lack of GHOST and hating the hell out of resurrect, I am down to only complaining about minor, quirky things, such as:

1) Bunkers. The new bunkers (actually old school bunkers) are shit-class. They do not do a good job of blocking paths, and they are a bit too busy.

2) Someone had mentioned the Particle Gun...Yes, these things lag the living hell out of any game when they are going full blast.

3) Every glass wall, defense wall, bunker, box (which should be completely open on the top BTW) and building I spawn has been a brick-colored red, and only lasts about 3 minutes.

4) Spawning with every weapon/all the time has actually gotten me killed a few times now. Is there any way that we can decide what we spawn with, instead "everything"? I know this is a lot to ask, so maybe it would be better if we only spawned with the "normal" UT weps...as in only one weapon per weapon box?

That's all. I had to write something BECAUSE THE GAME IS DOWN ATM!!! :@ :@
