Using Razor Bomb Effectively

Post by Nard » Sun Dec 02, 2007 3:07 pm

I've noticed that in the past few months, razor bomb hasnt been one of the more popular powerups, even though some people do use them but would rather use a blast. Well I had started an experiment with the razor bomb to make it more effective and this is what I have come up with.

1. You do not want to use propulsion or knockback.
2. Stack Force
3. Stack Null Entropy.
4. Stack Poison
5. Stack Damage

These are the 5 basic components you need in order to use an effective razor bomb. I've heard of some people using Freeze but if your really lazy and just want to get it over with Null Entropy is the way to go. For those of you who do not know what the Null Entropy is, its a powerup that locks the monster in place but is still able to shoot at you. With only 1-2 on there, its kinda hard to use. But when you pick up some sort of Flak of Rage +7 or above and start stacking about 3-4 Null Entropy's, 10 Poison, 10 Damage, well you got yourself a mean weapon. And the use for Force is that sense Null Entropy does not hold the monster in place long enough, you need to make sure your razor projectiles get to the monsters quick enough, especially if they are a distance away. Now to be honest, I forget if you are able to use Superforce and Null Entropy at the same time, If you can then just use superforce, if not, throw on a Force +5 and 2-3 Extra forces. That should last you. After discovering this, Razor bomb seems to work a little better.

This is just my opinion on how to use razor and I have been hearing some people complain about this. If anyone has any other suggestions on the razor they are welcome. I'm sure cadmium can help me out on the superforce question.

Well I use razor alot and here what I put in it and works like charm:

5rages
1propulsion
1force5
1damage5
1Heal
2inf's
1Iron

and all rest shields.

But people have to remember when making strategy posts that those work good for specific lvl. I am over lvl 275 and I do alot of damage with my setup, but that doesn't mean all other lvls will, so try it and see what works for who as there isn't 100% rule.

Well for me one day I got back from long absence then one day Drae told me most time a pullforward on blast was good and it made sense anyhow that was a while ago anyhow, but even as of lately I grew quite fond of
Pull Forwards as I did always aside from Propulsions and others but I grew even more fond of Pullforwards even more, aside from Propulsions they also go well good with Mp5's, Flaks and ooh yes Enchanced Super Shock Rifles

- It increases damage as you hear the Pull Forward sound or Propulsion sound
- Brings monsters towards you and away from others aim/reach making it abit easier for pu's, kills, points and Exp Lol j/k
- As it brings mobs towards you, essentially/effectively/constantly/consistently/advantageously 0.0 making them/it closer-faster-easier-more/greater damage as monsters gets or becomes closer to you, therefore a little easier, if I'm using pullforward I usually use 1, 2 or 4 Pull Forwards sometimes I like 1 or 2 sometimes 4 or more or maybe I guess it also depends on some maps, though the max for Pull Forwards is 7 or 8 or more I think.

If I had a Flak with extras 5-10 more or less these would be on my Flak if im using a Razor Bomb
but maybe sometime I might try Null Entrophy-Poison setup (if I can somehow get my pings under 300-400+ long story don't ask)

1 - Razor Bomb
2 - Infinity
2 - Healing
1 - Super Force
1-2 or 2-4 - Pull Forward
5 - Damage
1 - Damage 5
5 - Rage
1 - Protection 5
2 - Instagib Shield (Certain Waves)
2 - Titan Rock Shield (Certain Waves, keep when using Pull Forward as you will take some damage or get ''rocked'' from mobs, titans or rocks sometimes ramming at you especially if you have more than 2 PF's)
5 - Reflection or more
1-4 - Speed 5 (wop/stacked)
1 - Super Speed
1 - Award
1 - Vorpal
1 - Iron Sturdy
1 - Energy 5
5 - Energy (Might need to take off rock, instagibs and others if stacking.)
3 - Lucky (Can take off if your using triple damage artifact in late waves as the double damage you get from luckies will just take out the triple artifact out completely, keep, otherwise.)
1 - Super Lucky
1 - Piercing
1 - Penetrating on mp5's, wands, ssr's
2 - Magic pu (Actually spawns needed pu's while in air.)
2-4 - Shield Regenerator (wop/stacked)
2-4 - Health Regenerator (wop/stacked)
1 - Invisible
1 - Poison 5
5 - Poison
1 - Retaliation 5

(Might need to reload multiple times during waves if need to or have lower flak.)
most times I would reload/reconfigure frequently at times
hope I didn't accidently miss or erase something while editing this post Lol

But most times I would use or one should have a 2-Rocket Spread wop for back up in later waves 8, 17-20, and others.

To find out what the power ups do a. just ask someone in-game or b. bind ShowItemDescriptions like any other bind c. http://monstermadness.iforumer.com/view ... termadness

Regardless.....my only opinion is this....

"Burn In Hell Razorbomb!!!" LOL! I sho does hate that thing!!! Well...the primary fire anyways. To me it's only good for one thing. When you can't face the monsters directly....the bouncy alt fire is just the thing!! Especially if you have to bounce your fire off a wall and around the corner!!

Good point. However, everyone is different. I don't like the razorbomb as much as the combat shotgun.
