This was supposed to be UT,and personally I dislike most of the battlefield additions, and the language of the new soldiers is appalling, I don't want to hear F- ing C***, G damn,or someone whining about his balls all game long. What is a spitfire doing in a UT alien world,I know, I know, what is Barrack Obama doing in an alien world? Well the only compelling reason to put Obama in a UT game, would be if we could rip his head off with our bare hands, and shit down his heck hole,and then stuff his head up his ass, because that's where it is most of the time anyways. Ok, enough politics, all they needed to do was increase the power level of the monsters, add a few new cool guns, the Pus that fall are all out of sync, and there doesn't seem to be any advantage to being a higher level now at all. Seems like everyone is a high ranking official,too many chiefs, and hardly any indians now. The turrets need to go, no one player should be able to point whore 16 k from a gun that's on auto fire. I know we have those maps where every now and then people would be deemer whores,or ion spammers, pretty easy solution, either lose the ion, and deemer, or just put some decent guns in that you can fight with. The cutter is a waste of time, but still I haven't seen even one decapitated head like the old ripper, half the fun was watching the head bounce down the hall, and the lifeless body flop on the floor. The hello kitty nyan rifle sucks balls, why not just have a powder puffball machine, or a soap bubble gun, what's next maybe the commander can dress up in high heels, and wear a pink tutu?

This is supposed to be a war game, but it seems the timing, and action, and team element are now gone. I know the programmers mean well, but you have code people, and actual players,the game was supposed to be fun. I have tried to like this version, and what I liked best is playing with the best UT players in the world, and the friendships we have formed over the years is the main reason most of us keep coming back. I love the server, but they totally forgot that UT is supposed to be fun, I have played with some players like arumi since the old KNS server days. Maybe special abilities for certain players, or classes like it used to be, but the battlefield elements they added are cute, but mostly they are annoying, takes too much time to cycle through all that bullshit,I had to turn down all the sounds because of the language,and sound clutter,it's too friggin busy,it's supposed to have suspense,and surprise. I would have to shoot all of you if this was a real war,because everyone is talking so much, and making so much noise the enemy would hear us all a mile away, and get us all killed. This version is just too damn busy and cluttered with crap,plus is crashes more than Lindsey Lohan. When you design anything please use the K.I.S.S. principal. Keep It Simple Stupid! Your server is the best but the damn thing is top heavy,clean out the clutter,lighten certain things up, quiet a few things down, and eliminate every damn exploit there is. I would probably already be level 500 by now if I used that energy PU exploit the point whores all like. How about making it where you can't run dren for 15 friggin waves period,gee what a concept. No one should be able to score 15, 16, 18 k, every damn game, you're running all the noobs off that way,and all the older players won't like it either. Dren should run out after one wave,could you shoot pure meth into your heart and run around for 15 friggin waves in real life without your heart exploding? I don't think so, just make it where if they try and point whore too much, make their head keep getting bigger and bigger, and every other player has a big ass pin, and you pop his big head like a big zit. Then as the air escapes his fat friggin head, it flies all around dropping free points for all the other players. (lol) Keep UT, UT please,if we wanted to play battlefield we would go buy a disc.

Thank you for your feedback gib. We can't roll back the BF2 changes but I did implement your feedback about disabling some useless pus. I disabled the seeker, invis, vortex(until vortex monster comes back), and piercing. I did re-enable phantom though. Also the summons PU now only gives good weps, all nonsense (like the avril...etc) has been removed.

The shit talking american soldiers is something Joey really loves and used to have 5 waves of them, we already toned it down to 1 single wave against his wishes.

Spitfire was mainly there to add more to the german soldier wave and they have been around for a while, they just been added to the american soldier wave so that that wave doesn't feel dull and empty.

Obama is just another fun monster wich was supposed to bring a new mechanic (weapon steal) but how you prevent it atm doesn't really make it anything worth noticing sadly.

Classes/special abilities are going to be worked on in the future but we sadly couldn't do more then what we have currently but you'll defo see improvements in them later on.

Commander is one of those special abilities and some like it some don't and if you don't like it you can chose to not use it that is up to you.

If in general people find that it is to busy soundwise we'll tone it down next patch but I personally wanna keep the distinctive sounds in for the more dangerous monsters so you can more easaly identify them.

Adren artifact exploit I have already brought up with paint and we're still discussing it, might have a hotfix coming up for that to prevent the exploit but it's still being discussed.

Other exploits we currently can not fix due to lack of the source code.

Turrets we've discussed aswell and they are already are as rare as they can be, just as rare as the nuke wich gives about the same benefit pointwise but provides it in a different way.
Turrets are also useless in endgame cause they get destroyed instantly.
Currently still evaluating what we will do with them but they defo don't make it so you get an easy 16k score.

Guns aren't properly balanced at this moment and is something I wanna look at in the next patch.

Current xp system is what "you" the community decided that you wanted.

Power difference between high and low level has intentionally been reduced to make low level gameplay more appealing. As a high level player you won't care about it because you are past that point but I can tell you it surely is no fun having to sit in a hideyhole for 100 levels before being able to do anything so that is something we adressed.
Also being high level doesn't mean you should get a major advantage over others since that cripples gameplay and makes it impossible to maintain balance.

Crashes we are always monitoring and always working on trying to fix them but also in this we are limited in what we can do but you can be assured we will do as much as we can and is our top priority.

I like how hard you work on the server, and I don't mind being commander and setting up forts,and walls, you know I like building things. It's ok, I just don't like the GD word, or hearing the guy say F-ing C*** over and over, it's sort of derogatory against our female players. For the most part it is ok, and shows great promise,it's just taking some time to get used to. The flow is off or something, I can't explain it, the old version had sort of a flow to it, I like the new maps,some are too big for invasion,some are too small. Overall, it works, I hate to be the one bitching about everything,I don't want to be the one people say would bitch if I was hung with a new rope.(lol) You guys have provided all this free entertainment over the years, the least I could do is send you some money. It's hard trying to have the ultimate server,most of us come from other servers that have failed. This is the last of the invasion servers, like us old folks, it just keeps moving on, and refuses to die! You have to bring back the gunny voice pack,how can it be UT without the gunny. It will take some time to get it fine tuned, but I have complete confidence this will continue to be the last of the great invasion servers. We appreciate your hard work, in trying to make it the best invasion server. Maybe a special command tank like a leviathan or something that only the highest level players can drive,and you could have it where a bunch of noobs could fire heavy 50 cals out the windows or something,that way they get points,or it's a shared points thing. I think it would have to be a little less powerful as far as the plasma gun goes,just make it like a fun thing where you can run over shit, and the noobs can gun shit down without being killed in the first 15 seconds. Maybe like an armored troop carrier thing, where they shoot with their own guns out slots,and then can bail out the back door ramp or something. How about adding a flame thrower, or something we can set Obama on fire with...(lol) Maybe he screams like a little girl and runs around with his head on fire. Hey, I just put the ideas out here ok...lol

Well if it's to offensive or what not to more people then we will change it in the next content patch, sadly we cannot change it as of this moment.
Had the same complaint from another player about the stuff they say and that's why I've limited them strictly to 1 wave, they are no longer injected either so if you don't wanna hear it you can mute your sound for that one wave and bring it back up afterwards.

Well the gameplay has gone through some changes and if you played on 179 for so long it's a big step getting into 180.
It's now more skill based since everything can be avoided/countered in one way or another rather then trying to power through everything like it was on 179.
Also there are more dangers in general, new mechanics to be learned to deal with but in return monsters die a lot faster now at all levels compared to 179.
So yeah that's why things might feel or seem strange but everything was done to improve on the gameplay and make it more attractive for new players and keep it more interesting in the long run.

Feedback of any kind is always greatly appreciated and if you bitch to much you'll notice I'll give you a nickname like Grumple but even his bitching is noted ;)
Without feedback we can only go by our own gut feeling and would never have been able to make 180 as it is right now and won't be able to improve things as much in the future.

Different people have different opinions and ideas of how things should be and it is sometimes quite a challenge to find a fine balance between one end and the other and our own wishes, but still we try to please as many people as possible but sadly it's impossible to please every single person on every single point.

If we can find it somewhere we'll add that voicepack in the future.

For the Leviathan we currently have other plans but I'm sure we can use the idea on something else.
Also we are gonna refrain from adding vehicles most likely in the future due to them causing several technical issues but we also had a lot of complaints about them when we had it in commander.
We also have several other ideas on paper to provide more help for low level players but more on that when they are more worked out and possible.

More weapons, powerups, monsters, artifacts and that kind of stuff is something we will continue adding.
If we can find a flamethrower somewhere or if it's within our power to make one we will add it.

I'd like to note though on the point you brought up in the first post about the server not feeling to "UT".
If we made it Unreal universe only you would see only about 20 or 30 monsters in total including their variations and that would make it rather dull.
The server is a monster madness afterall so we have a lot of waves with different themes and why we have monsters randomly spawning through the injector.
It is the theme of the server and it is something that isn't gonna change, it's like being a christian american and suddenly you're asked to change to a muslim pakistani and need to cut off your foreskin and what not and get forced to be married to a woman that wears a curtain and has a beard.
So yeah sorry but we aren't gonna change the identity of the server.

Well, I like certain parts of the new additions. The main thing I see is the server has the same problem it always had. Not so much in the monsters,or types, but in the actual gameplay. You have weapons that vanish, now you have PUs for guns that used to be crate guns,a wand spawn was a bad idea. Plus, there is no incentive to actually hold letters, or crates,you end up with no gold,no way to gold a weapon unless you suicide, or someone gives you one. The people were the best thing I have always liked about this server. The gameplay has gone down hill, the server constantly crashes,the lag is worse because of all the new stuff that was added. I am seriously considering retiring from the game, I probably won't,but the gameplay for the most part is the worst I have ever seen it. There is no incentive for being a high level,besides you just have one or two players that suck the map dry for points every map anyways. The team element seems to be totally gone,I don't know what to think of the "improvements". The server seems top heavy to me, that's why it has that 5 second delay lag all the time,it can never catch up with all that extra stuff bogging the server down. At times it seems to play good, then it will just barf for no reason at all. Anyways, you guys did you best, and Thank You, for years of entertainment. It's still a fun server, I will probably continue to play,the general feedback I have been hearing is the old vets most likely will quit,and the noobs won't hang around either because this server has never been a noob friendly server. With the changes it resembles doom more than UT, in doom every movement made something happen,it seems more reactionary now. The rocket launcher sucks balls now,the mini is totally useless,I know it sucked before unless you had a ssr on it, but now it just plain sucks.The lazer seems to be improved, and the parti gun, the light gun should be a one shot thing so people actually use it, and the shock is useless unless your name is TAL. Can I ask a stupid question, why do you have to type in "mutate commander" three times before you can be commander. I stopped wanting to be commander,mainly because while trying to type in "mutate commander" three times,I would usually be type killed before I could be selected. Personally, I think you had the best server all you had to do was tweak it a bit,and clean it up so it ran better. The way it is now, people will be dropping out in droves, or not playing as much,no one wants to come in and just hang out while one person sucks the map dry for 20k every map. I am doing my best to like this new version, I just can't seem to get into it, the flow seems to be way off. What made it exciting is when other people are excited playing the game with you, now it just seems it's every man for themselves. Just my opinion, I'm not bitching about the effort people put into the game making it, I just think they over thought it, and now it's FUBAR.

Weaponloss we've reduced already by quite a bit and still working on fixing it more.
Pu's for guns that used to be crate guns are still in the crate but for technical reasons they're made into PU's.
It'll be balanced so that crate and letters are still valuable, the new good Pu's won't be common at all and won't be obtainable through summons anymore either.
Crashes and lag we are still working on fixing.
Incentive for being high level is being added soon with new additions to the RPG.
In a game there are always people that are better or worse then others so there will always be a difference in points, also still a lot of people who have not yet learned to deal with the new stuff and a few others have, knowledge is power.
What team element was there on 179 other then juggling weapons and sharing pu's? You still do the same on 180 and in addition to that you have other stuff that helps others like commander wich you didn't have on 179.
Yes the server is more reactionary now making it more skill based rather then powering through everything with little to no effort though elements of that are still there.
Rocket Launcher is one of the best regular guns at this moment and is on par with flak if not better in certain situations.
Mini SSR is returning soon and will have another PU in addition to it.
Lightning gun lacks proper powerups, something that will be adressed in the future.
Shock Rifle always sucked and is gonna be adressed in the future.
You can keybind "mutate commander" just like all the other keybinds you have so you don't have to type it even 1x just press a button 2 or 3x.
"Team play" was never really there on 179 apart from the points i brought up earlier unless you mean people sitting together in a hideyhole wich still happens.
It might feel there is less "team play" cause less people feel the need to hide cause they can actually do stuff when they are out there on the frontlines wich wasn't possible for many in the past wich was absolutely terrible gameplay to be forced to sit in a hideyhole.
For that reason it might feel like it is "every man for himself" aswell at this moment.

The Rocket Launcher with flare and 2x rocket spread is a great weapon. :| As for the Commander, type this in your console next time in the game: set input n mutate commander
After that all you will have to do is press the n key to apply and access the commander artifacts. (n = whatever key you want)

The rest I agree with banana on. Especially with what he said with the "team element from v179". Baron is quite busy with college and work nowadays, so tweaks mostly will be seen on weekends. He has some spring time off coming up so we should see some more adjustments. And we hope by the summer we can start diving into the bigger issues, and providing new content.
