Big things going on at Gaming Madness

Hello Everyone,

I wanted to inform everyone of some changes that have recently gone on, and
I believe make our community stronger.

1.) We have upgraded our forum to phpBB3.

This upgrade enabled us to give you (our members) a better online
experience here at Gaming Madness.

2.) We have changed forum hosts.

As most of you may have noticed the forum was going offline frequently. I
finally got fed up with it and bought a server and domain and now host our
forum here. This now enabled us to have a forum with 100% up time, and no
annoying adverts.

3.) We now support our Battlefield 2 community.

Joey's BF2 server "24/7 Karkand Infantry Madness" (68.232.170.13:16567) has
recently grown at an alarming rate which is part of the reason for the
upgrade to phpBB3. The server is constantly full all the time so we needed
a place for our players to reach us. I want to make it perfectly clear that
this is not a hostile take over of the forum (as explained below).

4.) It was decided by the management that because we are catering to more
than one video game that we should make the forum as neutral as possible to
make it possible to add more servers in the future. This is why the forum
is no longer called the "Monster Madness Invasion Forum". Because we host
the forum for BF2 as well we need a place where all of our users can call
home.

5.) We changed our name to "Gaming Madness" because we believe it embodies
the spirit of both of our servers. As you know both servers have Madness in
their name, which was the inspiration for our new website name.

6.) Unfortunately during the changing of hosts I couldn't get the latest update for the forum. The latest update I had on file was from 1/1/10. So essentially any users or posts that were created after 1/1/10 no longer exist. As unfortunate as this is, there really isn't anything I can do about it since there is no way for me to contact my old host to request a new database because they dropped off the face of the earth.

I wanted to write this email to everyone to thank you for your continued
support of our little community, we greatly appreciate your membership with
us. Take care, and we hope to see you in game.

Yes, there are some themes on already, go to User Control Panel -> Board Preferences -> my board style.
Then you can choose from the list of what you like.

I prefer a colorless site! Naaaahhh....just kidding. If the phpBB version is fairly new, there may not be many available that are compatible. I think I had seen the AcidTech set of theme in the theme list. They must have coded those AcidTech themes really well, because they have been around for years, and ported through a number of phpBB versios. Beyond that..I haven't really kept up with new developments with phpBB 3.

Anyway..Arch..how ya been?! Good I hope!

OH....YAY!! Smilies are fixed (rock)

Hi, i thought about "google has it all" and tried a bit, there are many sites still available in googles cache, so if there were really important topics or posts missed, some can maybe restored that way, just like the following example:

http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/s ... 33&ct=clnk

or

http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/s ... ss&ct=clnk

Its a bit tricky to find the correct links, some need more tries to get the correct google cache site.
Like i said, just if some important is missed (like my topic :-) ) , but if i remember right since i was back there were not
really often made new topics this year, forum looked a bit dead.
