Neither of those support LGA 1366 (Core i7 socket). I went ahead and bought the one I posted.

This is my
AC ARCTIC COOLING Freezer XTREME-120mm CPU Cooler - Retail, in Italy is priced at 25-30 €.
That figure is a best/buy (for performance-price), you need the rev.2, with support for the i7 (LGA 1336), but here, on newegg, i do not see in the catalog.

Sure didn't, but thats the thing about technology you can never be on top of it. But this doesn't upset me whatsoever because at this very moment my pc is rocking with a celeron D and a 7600gt w/ 1gb ram. By the time my new system equivilates to this, then I might consider upgrading.

EDIT:

After doing some research after the curiosity of going from i7 to i5 from what I have read it looks like the i5 will be more mainstream and value and the i7 is the enthusiast brand. However the "new" cpu's from intel will have 6 cores and then soon after 8.

You think they will accept preorders for an Arnold Schwarzenegger terminator this early? LOL

Sweet crys of life

Post by BaronVonRotterdam » Fri May 29, 2009 2:44 pm

Well I put everything together (minus the ram and video card) and pushed the power button and I heard the sweet crys of the bios screaming Beeeeeep, beep beep. That is apparently the code for a missing video card, which makes sense since there isn't one lol. Since the motherboard turned on and it gave me an error and the cpu heat sink was absorbing heat that means the cpu, mobo, and psu are working great!! The heatsink is a TIGHT fit. I have to push it to the right (im sure this isn't that good for the mobo) about 1-2mm just so the heatsink can clear the top of the case but once the door is shut it has all the room it needs. This wednesday I will be getting my paycheck and buying the ram then next is the video card (upgraded to the gtx 275) and then the monitor, then the ups and all the other "extras" later. All in all I am EXTREMELY EXCITED!! School is ending soon (1 MORE YEAR TO GO!!!!!!!!!) which means with my new computer I will be rejoining ut and will be able to help joey when he gets back.
