some maps, like nyc-train or nightclub, are using "big"versions of player-skins for something like "statues". my question is, can this be done (easy) with every standard-ut-skin and/or special skins? (the thousands you can download or monster-skins etc). next question, if its possible, can they be "recoloured",lets say in grey/white/bronze, so it looks finally like a real statue?

Sure it can be done I could try to explain how but I may not know the "proper" way to do it.

If you lost your cd and have the old drive and have not reinstalled UT2004 or reformatted the drive, you can find your old cd key in the registry here ...
My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Unreal Technologies\Installed Apps\UT2004

I cant say this 100%, but I dont think you can change skin on that statue - player. That player (statue like ) is taken from mesh files I believe and only thing you can do to it is change textures, but again as I said before not 100% sure. I believe its taken from ut2k3 mesh files and I dont think you can find all players only that one or maybe one more which were used to make loading of game or somthing like that (training video part or somthin).
Now to make that one bronze is easy, select mesh and go to properties skins and add your new texture (which you have to import as MyLevel package).
