LinkGun can be your friend

Post by Renegade » Sat Apr 05, 2008 2:43 pm

Usually when I'm on the server I end up seeing SSRMini/Razor/Flare/BlastCannon, but I've always thought people keep underrating the LinkGun's potential nastiness

Each pulse does 30 damage, toss on a WeaponSpread, you got 90 damage close range. Tack on DB/ADB/DamPUs and you can end up with quite a nasty beastie of a weapon

One thing I haven't tested is if whether or not you drain out ammo when you link a person with 1/2 Infs, but linking should still give a damage boost
So this is also a bit of a request for more LinkGun based PUs, maybe something for the beam which makes it more flexible/longer, hell, maybe even provide a greater damage boost to the guy you're linking too

It also seems like having the LG with spread does a better job then with the Darmar (or whatever its called) PU.

im not sure about your theorie, in normal-weapon-games, ctf, br, dm etc, yes, but if i´m right on this server many weps here are tuned a bit up or down in its power, so maybe one pulse = 50 damage or whatever. anyways, a good point, i still miss a complete loooong list about what weapon is doing what damage with this or that pu-settings....

"90 damage close range"... sure... show me how close u need to go to a fly or a lil bug to have 90 damage with "one" shot (3 single-spreaded pulses). even against spiders , queens and fat luzies you will have problems getting close enough to hit 3 with 1 shot. :-)))
tip: use superforce and spread is getting a bit smaller

Yea, that was mostly assuming a WoP Link starts with default damage
I'm a bit of a suicidal gamer, I'll dive right into the face of my opponent if it will get them killed faster, so facing a bug/fly/etc I just get right up in their maw and usually hit them with at least 2 pulses

Never really had a problem getting up in the faces of the big beasties(tho I give titans their distance). Helps that not only if I boosted my Vamp ability to at least lvl5, but I always throw a VampPU on whatever weapon I'm using most

I too have noticed that SuperForce shrinks the spread a bit, very handy

What the hell does Darmar do anyway? I end up with a whole mess of them but never use em, mostly cuz a few said not to even bother

well..it kills easy monsters,,, and some very rare special monsters, those who are trapped in lifts, glitched behind or under map so you normally cant shoot it. darmar has the "ability" to shot through walls or ground, if you are near enough, because its "effect" (that tripllecrossed whateveriscalled) starts to "appear" like ca. 50cm in front of you, so if you stand in front of a wall, firing the darmar, you can kill monsters behind it. normally its not worth to use it, but in that case its good to have one, and in some maps it often helped when no admin was there to ghost a player to kill the last glitched monster... penetrating weapons like mp5 looks like helps sometimes too, esp in "paperscissors", cause it looks like its only a very thin small walls from the center pyramide, in which monsters "love" to spawn...
