Windows 7

Post by KNC » Thu May 05, 2011 7:20 am

First thread here of course about W7. Even though it is a Microsoft OS, W7 is easy to use, isn't eating up to much ressources and is relatively reliable.
I encoured alot of people saying W7 is like Windows Vista though, still wonder what exactly they smoked. The difference between Vista and 7 is rather huge in all possible ways excepting the lookalike.
Only thing bad for W7 I encountered so far, playing some old games can prove impossible, even if some even older games work for whatever reason.

Personally I went from XP directly to W7 64

So for gaming (and currently everything else) W7 is my favourite. Gotta see if 8 is screwed up again though.

Well, one of the best things about Windows 7 is that you can use a lot more memory than the older OS's. I'm running 8 gigs now.

Yeah I feel just like you do KNC. Infact I also moved straight from XP to windows 7 64 bit. And yeah Arch you can support up to like 128GB i read or something crazy like that. Right now I am running 12GB just plug and play. I LOVE this OS. And if you have seen any preview of windows 8 with that bubble gui it looks kinda dumb. I like what we have now.

So far with nearly no exception MS always released one good system, then a shitty one, then a good one, then a shitty one and so it goes on. Chances are 8 is going to be shit. I wouldn't be disappointed if it were ok though.
