As a matter of fact I do as I managed Executive Protection for one of the Big 3 for 11 years. I was there during conferences, meetings and at their homes. This was with the CEO and all the Board members. So I do have extensive knowledge in this area. It's funny how you are looking at this as the taxpayers are just giving out a handout when it's just suppose to be a loan.

so not only is your viewpoint disingenuous, it's also emotionally biased. come on man, do you honestly think the government won't take a loss on this? it's impossible. this isn't a simple loan, this is the US government keeping a company solvent by purchasing a controlling share. that isn't a loan, it's a suicide pact. if these companies go tits up, we're out the money no matter what. there is no collateral. and no amount of advertising (or government incentives) is going to make a car company that sells gigantic gas-guzzling pieces of shit stay in business.

I like their trucks and some of their cars and so do many others.

uh no, i drive a '00 dodge neon with 140k miles on it. so guess again. my point regarding honda was that even though they exist in the same hostile market as the other (failing) car companies, they still only had ONE FISCAL QUARTER where they didn't show a profit. and once again, it isn't because they had superior advertising.

Dodge was started in the early 1900's by 2 brothers in the U.S.A. Then sold in the 20's or 30's to Chrysler (or Daimen Chrysler I forget which).

You miss the whole point of the thread.......it's about how the government bitches about how much they spend on advertising then go about passing a Bill to spend $20 mil to immigrate Palestinians into the US. It's a where's your priorities issues. And have you priced advertising lately? It also wasn't about business model either.

Yeah, shows like those , you have to remember that they are produced for entertainment value and that those that are tasked with research often have little, if not NO KNOWLEDGE in the area they are researching. My brother-in-law and myself often watch the Military Channel and find discrepancies in their shows.
