Crash over and over due to resurrecting

Here is the crash message I get each time

Its happened 3 times in 6 maps, I get hit by something heavy and right on the res it just crashes my game. No idea why, I made a comment on Rumples post about crashes happening from it, so I'll keep it short and say please bring ghost back soon! lol Damn I cant take it, if it happens again soon I will just not have res and die when I die. I would rather die and miss a part of a wave here and there than completely crash. Obviously ghost is what is used by the normal RPG invasion mod, the original base rpg mod, whatever you want to call it,,, and resurrect is a 3rd party ability... so there are going to be more problems with a 3rd party ability with interactions to other things in the game when it comes down to it. Its not about liking one or another at this point, its the quality of play. The instant respawn of resurrect is causing too many problems. Ghost was not perfect either and in fact certain older maps poorly made with fewer path nodes can cause it to go off the map and kill you. I havent had that happen in years though. So yeah anyways I just wanted to bring this to Paint/Baron's attention so when working on the mod he can get an idea of whats happening. I dont know exactly what the message means, but I think "get powerup count" has something to do with reloading your powerups when you ressurect. I definitely did not pick up a powerup when these crashes happened, or apply one, so thats my assumption that the res is causing an issue reloading everything properly.

clear your /cache folder, it's reading a file it shouldn't be -- though this should be type mismatch error

paint, bring back the 1 million and 17 posts about THAT critical error message/crash from old 179 bugreport forum...

if clearing the cache folder is just the so simple and easy solution for this problem, why did noone say this since 2006?

btw. i have this a lot too. not complaining about THAT. i used to have this problem a lot back in the first 2-3 years
when i started to play here. for some reason it nearly disappeared and only happend every now and then when
beeing titan-rocked or crashed by them. continued suddenly to happen again and again after new server restarted
after it was broken! so whats different now?

oh, and why does it happen permanently without having a single file in cache folder except for the cache.ini file???????????

Thanks for the replies guys, I definitely rarely clear the cache lol except when I use cachecleaner program to turn the files from temporary to permanent files (mainly for the weapons and maps to be used in single player) Amy I also would say that for a very long time there were no problems like this. I played of course as T-Money in the old days when it was called Joeyz something rpg server instead of the current name and I remember it happening then but until this last restart, never had a problem. In fact, the server crashes seemed to be gone as well until this past restart when ghost was taken off and the assassin and engineer and stuff were added. Overall since then Ive personally crashed in about 4/20 games but adding the games where the whole server crashed, but my UT2004 didnt, that would be probably 8/20. The last 2 days have been absolutely horrible as far as crashes of both types and like I said, 180 seemed to be going very smoothly before this newest change.

Something must be in the cache or game file, I have never had an issue with crashing with Res, so it has to be something in one of those 2 places.

Im not sure what it is now, it could be something besides res, cause im not sure if I res'd or not lol it crashes so I cant tell if thats exactly what is happening. But usually its when something hits me. I just wanted to add that i logged in today and had the same crash again, no idea whats causing it. I cleared my cache as suggested and then randomly crashed while firing a redeemer at a ground of monsters and got the same crash with the "powerup count" message out of nowhere. Crazy that 1/3 games are either crashing or I am crashing and the server isnt, or both lol. Something since the most recent 181 thing must be affecting it. Im going to try removing some of the newer stuff and see what happens if I play without many abilities.

Exactly Rumple. I think the crashing I had may have been because of the new ability that lets you start with all the guns too. Im doing some testing on it, but I think it was causing a problem with reloading the guns/powerups during ressurection because it happens so quickly. The guns that you start with are different than the ones that youd pick up. For example, when i mediced a gun that I started with while having the ability on, I was then able to pick up another copy of the MEDIC'D GUN, so I had TWO COPIES of that gun. A real copy, and a medic version of the one I started with. Something in the coding of the ability is causing this bug so I think that perhaps medicing the guns that you start with and then resurrecting is crashing it on the reload. But shit I don't know yet, its confusing, I am doing some testing today on the server. If I keep crashing without that mod, I will try turning off resurrect and just die when I die on each wave. I'd also rather just die and be back the next wave than ressurect and crash and have the map be ruined for me. Res doesnt always crash, usually its fine, so something else is making it crash along with resurrect. Most of the players Ive asked dont have the new ability that starts you with all the guns, it is after all 200 for both levels of it.

Just wanted to add that I tested playing without resurrect and played 3 straight maps without a game crash. Havent done that yet since ghost was removed. So whatever is causing it definitely is related to resurrecting cause it works 100% perfectly crashless without it.
