Thought it was server related.... and I probably lost my stats being the nick I use in game has an odd character. TzÄkol
I just hope the rpg*.ini doesn't reference any game file names, because it will break the server... such as making note of map name or similar, it will show up as ? in the ini and this could cause an issue with bad file name. ut wrote the text files in the format that they did to overcome this problem... people would jump the server and kill the client causing lag spikes.. if it has question marks in the ini, there is a good possibility that the small spikes are the server not liking file name....

anyway... i am going to be on tonight for a while .... hope to see you but if your not (sleeeeeeeeeeep) .... shall see you at a later time....

I am having trouble with too many players with ? Ansi character replacement and need to revert back to unicode so players keep original character names tonight. This wont effect all that we done so far but does give players their original names back. I just dont have the time to correct every stat. Tonight we go back to original player name convention but i will purge old records on players below 50 that are more than 2 years old to make database room/optimize.

Ok all of today joeyz and I have been making repairs to the database. When we put the RPG file back on the server yesterday we had encoded it and it removed all of the ASCII (special) characters. That's the reason why many of you have "lost" your levels. In reality your stats are still there however each ASCII character in your name has been replaced with a "?". So tonight we are about to restore the RPG file a 2nd time but this time with the special characters, but with further optimization for added performance. Joey is also adding levels to players that lost any levels by the DB backup to compensate them. I attached a file called "PlayerStatistics" which can be opened with Microsoft Excel. It is a spreadsheet that shows levels 10-max and how many players occupy each level. It's pretty interesting to see the groupings.

Updated Performance Statistics:

File size changes (version 3):
Start: 21427kb (529118k lines)
End: 3117kb (123621k lines)

The Reduction Difference:

FileSize: -85%
Lines: -77%

In addition too....

Adding 110 NEW monsters, to the additional 180 on the server already.
Adding the fixed version of my first scratch built map. DM-(Mob)DarkTemple-V1-fixed!

Will be up around 2:00 AM - Eastern.

Happy Fragging!

I halfway agree but everyone else over lvl 300 Worked and played their buts off to get there.
However they played a lot more often/more time and I did not.
While I should not look a gift horse in the mouth I do not feel like I earned it.
